Results

Two weeks of competitions have passed by and the incessant rain has more or less continued for most of that period.

Over the Easter Weekend Mr. Matchplay Philip Maguire proved he was more than a one trick pony with a fantastic 38pts topping the running in the Bank Holiday Stableford.

He pipped Fred Potter and Jo Maes via countback.

On Wednesday last in much better conditions one of the most experienced of our members took top honours with Jimmy Donovan claiming top spot on 37pts with Roly Curran and Francis O’reilly taking 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

The recently finished Texas Scramble which ran over the course of a month was sadly badly affected by the wet but that’s not to take anything away from the team of Kevin Mcpartland, Fred Potter, Stephen Garvey and Kevin Forde who took the prize with a 57.4 nett.

In the Leitrim Cup Shauna Fee pipped Pat Alston on another countback both finished with 75s and Vera Waters took 3rd a further shot behind.

Easter Draw

There was a wonderful response to our small fundraising draw and huge thanks to all those who bought tickets or helped out. The winners of some fantastic hampers and assorted prizes were Keiran Ryan, Darren Boyle, Margaret

Mcdermott, Tony Fee, Ciara Mcmanus and Gareth Mcgovern.

Handicap Changes

Changes to WHS came into effect from April 1st. These changes will take a little time to adjust to but in the longrun will prove to be a fairer system.

As you will have noticed our Scorecards and tee box signs are not matching at the moment but the new cards should be with us shortly so bear with it and please remember mark in all your scores on card as if it was a stroke competition.

Congratulations

A big shout out to Darren Boyle who had his first hole in one at the weekend on the 11th .

Also must mention the fantastic run of Leona Maguire in the LPGA matchplay event where she made the final having played some fantastic golf over the four days.
