Apprentice Careers Event ahead at SWC
FOR school leavers interested in an apprenticeship, South West College (SWC) is preparing to host its annual Apprentice Connect event from April 30 – May 2 at their Enniskillen, Omagh and Dungannon Technology and Skills Centre campuses from 6.30pm – 8.30pm daily.
SWC works in partnership with local companies to provide opportunities for young people and adults to undertake apprenticeships, increasingly at higher levels, studying at the College whilst employed.
There are currently almost 2,000 apprentices studying at the college and working locally, with over 500 undertaking Higher-level Apprenticeships (HLAS). Apprenticeships are available across a wide range of sectors including Engineering, Construction, Dental, and Accountancy, and provide participants with the opportunity to earn while you learn, working with local companies, earning wages, and studying qualifications up to and including Hons Degrees without attracting fees.
The college works with prospective apprentices and local employers seeking to match talent with apprenticeship opportunities through Apprentice Connect. This year’s program includes events planned on each campus as follows: Omagh Tuesday, April 30, 6.30pm to 8.30pm; Dungannon, Wednesday, May 1, 6.30pm to 8.30pm; Enniskillen, Thursday, May 2, 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Apprentice Connect provides school leavers with an opportunity to engage and connect with local top employers and SWC staff to find out more about apprenticeship programs on offer at the College for the September 2024 start.
A wide range of employers will be recruiting at the event and will be available to discuss apprenticeship and higher-level apprenticeship opportunities and longer-term career pathways.
The informative event will also promote the College’s wide range of apprenticeship options available to young people and is suitable for both A-level and GCSE school leavers, those who wish to upskill or retrain, as well as our new range of All Age Apprenticeship programs.
Welcoming the upcoming event, Celine Mccartan, SWC Principal and Chief Executive, said: “Prospective apprentices or employers who would like more information about the event should email apprenticeconnect@swc. ac.uk.”
