What a year and it is snowing!

At this time, there is around 4-5 inches’ worth of snow on the ground in Kent, England, which is where I am currently located, and temperatures range from 0 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees Celsius. This may be funny to those of you who live in regions that experience snow on a more regular basis, or perhaps on a daily basis; an Englishman griping about the winter weather may strike a humorous chord with you.

With the war in Ukraine still going on and us continuing to be in a worldwide recession (for those who have acknowledged that we are in one), it has been a minefield for businesses in the luxury industry. This has been a mixed bag of events, both politically and economically. But for others, it has been yet another year of sustained growth, and industries like yachting and private aviation are practically bursting at the seams as a result. The order book for new superyacht projects is still expanding, and the global demand for private jets has reached a point where, even if a jet does come on the market, it is sold within 24 hours of being listed for sale.

Throughout the course of this year, IMPERIUM has shown growth for us. I am so proud of the team behind it that we are now reaching over 180,000 readers around the world, and those readers are the ones who are currently taking part in our Readership Survey to help us, going into 2023, improve the publication, a chance for them to shape their magazine. In addition, the survey assists us as a publisher in ensuring that we are obtaining the appropriate content and brands.

The team has also expanded with the addition of two new writers and contributors who have joined the team. Lisa Palmer, who is known as the Millionaire Matchmaker to celebrities and the wealthy, and Julian Krickl, who comes from the superyacht and martime industry, have both joined the team. Both of them are recognised authorities in their fields, and I have no doubt that they will enlighten our readers with fascinating anecdotes and sound advice that they can use in their everyday lives.

The year 2022 has been quite eventful, but our attention must now turn to 2023, when we will begin making preparations for the next iterations of IMPERIUM.
