Improve Your Coarse Fishing (UK)

Welcome from the Editor...

- James Furness Editor

WELCOME to the latest issue of IYCF. This issue sees an impressive milestone – the 100th diary entry from Bob Roberts. Bob started his diary back in April 2010 and has provided words and pictures every four weeks without fail ever since. This is certainly no mean feat. Being able to catch a range of species from a variety of different locations to keep readers entertained is also a tough challenge. Thankfully for us, Bob nearly always manages to succeed and invariably his copy and pics always arrive several days before the agreed deadline. As a reward for all his hard work and dedication we’ve given him a couple of extra pages for his diary piece this month as well as a feature on the revival of the River Don (page 14). It’s a great story of a waterway that only 40 years ago was so polluted that it held few fish. Nowadays it’s an angling paradise where bumper hauls are on the cards. It’s well worth a session or two. Over the last few months we’ve been busy visiting various trade shows where we get to see some of new items of tackle which manufacturers will be launching over the coming 12 months. And in this month’s bumper 23-page tackle special we’ve picked out some of the best bits covering everything from carbon seatboxes to feeders. As this is the final issue of 2017 I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed and read IYCF over the last year. I hope we’ve helped you put a few extra fish on the bank. I’ll end by wishing you a happy Christmas and New Year – enjoy it!
