Drop shot rig
Drop shotting is a finesse lure fishing tactic where a soft plastic imitation bait is suspended above the bottom with a weight attached to the end of the line about 18in below the bait. Unlike other lure methods, this allows you to keep the lure in one area as opposed to reeling it back across the swim. This is ideal for targeting any fish-holding structures such as overhanging bushes or moored boats. By gently twitching the rod tip you can make the bait quiver enticingly.
