FIRST TENCH

ADAM CHUMBLEY, HEXHAM

Thought I'd send you picture of my eight- year- old son Rupert with his first- ever tench. He caught it on his 4m whip using worm at Wydon Water in Hexham, Northumberland.

We had been catching small silvers when suddenly he hooked the tench. He played it with help from me for five minutes and it went into the reeds several times. As his first tench, it was a pb at 3lb 12oz. I've only managed three tench over 3lb and have been fishing for 30 years!
