Improve Your Coarse Fishing (UK)

Welcome...

- Tony Grigorjevs, Features Editor

Welcome to the latest issue of IYCF! James has taken a well- earned holiday and that leaves you stuck with me this time round.

It’s been over two years since I switched from our sister title Angling Times to IYCF and it has been a real eye- opener to what our sport is all about.

One moment I am out shooting features on some of the most stunning stretches of natural water you could possibly imagine and the next I am sharpening my F1 skills while spending time with a commercial fishery expert.

If I could take one thing out of my time so far it would be that you are never too old to learn new tricks. Whether you are a recent newcomer to our amazing sport or have spent decades climbing the ladder of experience, fishing covers far too much for anyone to know everything.

In this month’s issue current Fish O’Mania champion Andy Bennett gives away some of the hottest tips that helped him take the crown. His advice is proof that taking time to consider the tiniest of details really can go a long way to making you a much better angler.

We’ve also picked the brains of James Champkin to find out how he goes about catching big bream, while Robbie Griffiths bags up in an unusual fashion on a large reservoir. Again, both of them reveal plenty of tips that will definitely get you thinking.

While I hope you enjoy reading IYCF from the comfort of your home, I also hope you get on the bank and put into practice the gems that are dished out by the talented anglers within these pages – they really will make a difference to your results.

James will be back at the helm for next month but until then, enjoy the hopefully glorious summer weather and let us know when you have a day to remember.
