Photo comp winner!
Last month, the theme of our Instagram photo competition was ‘green’. Thank you for all of your wonderful entries – we loved seeing the green hues that inspire you! Our winner is Melissa (@marrymecincy) and her brill pic of a koala on a trip to Australia that challenged her. “Aside from being cute, this photo also represents overcoming fears to live life to the fullest,” she says. “Despite a big ol’ fear of ying, I recently spent 17 straight hours in the air to go to Australia. The goal of petting a koala was one of the things that helped to get me excited for the journey!” Melissa wins a nature box from themed subscription box service Moi-Même, lled with gifts that have come from, been inspired by or care for our natural world

I recently listened to Laura Wright’s interview on your podcast, which was so inspiring. I used her calming playlist to help me get through my college nals week – it did the trick!
I read Natalie Lue’s ‘Embrace the imperfect’ column in issue 14 and it made me nally understand why
I’ve been so stuck. I’m currently in therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), and it has been fear of the unknown – a life that is actually worth living – that has kept me sticking with what I know even when it has been making me so unhappy to do so.
DBT is grounded in becoming more mindful, like Natalie says, being “grounded in the present, reassuring myself and not self-sabotaging”. From now on I will be taking steps to bring me out of that ‘comfort zone’ and to pursue what makes me happy. Thanks for such a thought-provoking feature.
