Changing of the seasons
Two of our favourite parts about swapping summer for autumn are the glorious shades of ochre and umber on the
trees and crisp leaves underfoot. In Finland, this riot of colour is so spectacular that they even have a word for it,
ruska – which takes place for a few weeks at the end of September and into October. Finland’s northernmost region, Lapland, is said to have the most varied shades and stunning sights of this natural phenomenon
– we’re already getting our hiking shoes on.
