Broccolatte to go?
Yes, really. An Australian-based company called Hort Innovation has developed a new food powder made of nely ground dried broccoli. It was tested at a Melbourne café where baristas added it to espresso and steamed milk. Much the same as in its veggie form, the ‘broccolatte’ was met with some mixed reviews, but the creators says it’s a good way to increase our veg intake, as well as reducing food waste, as the powder is made from ‘ugly broccoli’ that would otherwise be thrown away. We think we’ll give it a go with some of our leftover greens – once we’ve saved some for bubble and squeak, that is.
