School Philosophy: We want all our pupils to have the opportunity to explore, to express and to excel in all aspects of school life as part of our Canford community. Our values of courageous attitude, purposeful engagement, humble ambition and gracious leadership underpin everything we do and help to forge the strong bonds between sta , pupils and parents which are a fundamental feature of Canford life. Our education is partnership driven by mutual respect, trust and a willingness to work together for a better future. It is structured yet allows pupils to grow as individuals – a school where they can truly flourish. Academic Record: Canford ranks highly among the top co-educational boarding schools in the UK in terms of results and is a leader regionally. We want our pupils to follow their chosen career pathways whether that be university, apprenticeships or the world of work. The vast majority choose higher education, with 85 pupils gaining places at Oxbridge in the past decade and over 95% of pupils gaining places to top universities each year, the majority to Russell Group/Sunday Times Top 12. Over 100 pupils have gained coveted places at Medical Schools in the past ten years, and as an o cial SAT testing centre, o ers and scholarships to US and other international universities are on the increase. Co-curricular: Our success in external examinations and university o ers derives, we believe, from a culture of learning, intellectual stimulation and a coherent education where pupils make connections between and across learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom.
