Roz and Nick’s relationship is odd – she almost controls him, like a child…
They do have a strange relationship in that way. They fell in love quite early and had kids, and it was agreed that he was getting to a point in his career where he was going to push for partnership, so Roz slightly took a back step so he could go forward. But it didn’t quite work for him, so she has always felt a slight resentment towards him in that respect.
Is Nick relieved that he has been let off… so far?
I don’t think so. I don’t think he knows what’s going on or who’s saying what. He’s questioning Roz’s motives and I think he’s just supersuspicious and on high alert. I don’t think he knows what is going on within his family, so he’s completely unsettled. They all are.
People had suspicions about Nick early on because you were too famous an actor to play ‘just the husband’ – how easy was it to keep secrets?
I just didn’t say anything to people at all! I had people contacting me on Twitter asking me what’s going on, and how come I’m only in one scene – and theories about the plot as well! I thought the best thing to do was to not respond at all, otherwise you are probably going to end up landing yourself in trouble.
Were you disappointed that Nick wasn’t cool under AC-12 questioning like most people? He was all over the place…
Hahaha! Yes, and to say he’s a lawyer, he can’t quite keep it together himself – I think he panics, worrying about whether he’s going to give something away that he shouldn’t. I think he’s trying to paper over cracks that sometimes don’t even exist, so he ends up just running himself around in circles!
