Anna has had all kinds of bonkers plots during her four-and-a-half years as Hollyoaks’ Sienna – so she’s happy to answer even the craziest of questions…
“Which of Sienna’s love interests do you think she’s been most suited to?”
Warren and Sienna are the ultimate soapie match, because they’re both such villains! It’s a really nice dynamic, and there’s a lot of passion between them. But aside from Warren, I really liked Sienna and Trevor. I just think that was a very sweet little relationship that was quite unexpected, and you saw different sides to both characters when they were together.
“What’s it like for you being an honorary member of the Mcqueen family?”
“Who has Sienna been most suited to?” Oh, I love it! When it was first pitched to me, I wasn’t sure Sienna would really fit in with them, because they’re so different – Sienna is about as far away from the Mcqueens as you can get on the spectrum! But I think it makes for some very nice scenes – the Mcqueens are so kind and they really embrace her. Sienna isn’t used to having that easy-going family life.
“Sienna and Warren are having twins – what should they be called?”
I’ve already named them, actually! I don’t think that’s my job at all, so this won’t be what they’re really called in the show. But I’ve decided the little one is a girl and she’s called Maisie, and the bigger one is a boy called Mark – I thought Sienna would call him Mark after her brother Dodger, that seems like a suitably mental thing for her to do! And it’s highly likely they’ll turn into serial killers…
“How are you feeling about the prospect of working with two babies on set?”
I’m dreading it! The last time I really worked properly with a baby was little Oscar, when I was doing the Nancy and Darren storyline, and that baby was good as gold. His name was Ethan, and I’ve never seen a more chilled-out child in my entire life. So I’ve got high expectations – if I get two that cry all the time, I won’t know what to do!
“Can you tell us a secret about Jamie Lomas [who plays Warren]?”
I know that once, he got so drunk that he walked out of a hotel room completely naked, and got locked out,
then panicked and didn’t know what to do. So he just decided that the best thing would be to lay down in the hallway and wait for people to find him! That’s something he told me in total confidence, so I’m sure that I can tell that to Inside Soap readers…
“Which of your former co-stars do you miss the most?”
Jeremy Sheffield [Patrick
Blake]. I just adore him – I think he’s the best actor I’ve ever worked with. I miss him in a professional sense because I loved working with him – but on a personal level, I miss him as well. He was my next-door neighbour and my friend, and he was always there with a cup of tea and some good advice.
“What would be your dream storyline for Sienna?”
I would love for the show to somehow bring her family back into it. It would be great if she could get married to Dodger, and for that to be okay! Or for Patrick to somehow return from the dead – maybe Sienna has him as her imaginary friend, and she has lots of scenes where she is talking to him!
“Do you have any pets?”
My family has a dog called Scout, she’s a chocolate spaniel and I love her. But I’d love to have a rescue greyhound, or a lurcher, and two kittens. There’s a kitten sanctuary in Liverpool called the Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary, and they’re constantly sending me pictures of these little kittens they get in, and I’m always so tempted. But we live in a top-floor flat at the moment, so it’s not feasible right now.
“What would be your dream holiday destination?”
I really want to see Canada. I used to work in California – I had a job on a horse ranch there – and when
I finished, I did a bit of backpacking. I so wanted to get up to Canada, but I ran out of time. So Canada is still on my list. I’d love to go and see all the big forests and lakes, that’s my dream trip.
“What would you be doing if you weren’t an actress?”
Probably still working on the horse farm that I worked on. I used to help to train the horses and look after them, and then we’d take lessons and trips, and it was just the most fun job I ever had. It was in the middle of nowhere, and it was incredibly peaceful.
“Who’s your favourite person to follow on social media?”
[Hollywood actress] Anna Kendrick. She’s really, really funny, and her tweets are always a bit nonsense. I think that they’re a nice break from all the serious stuff.
