Rhona’s wedding day hell…

AS RHONA AND PIERCE TIE THE KNOT, THERE ARE HORRIFIC SHOCKS IN STORE…

- Allison Jones

All hell breaks loose on Pierce and Rhona’s wedding day this week, as the groom turns on his bride in terrifying fashion.

Pierce’s obsessive behaviour has grown ever more disturbing in recent weeks, and in spite of Vanessa’s warnings that he can’t be trusted, Rhona has ignored her best friend’s pleas. But it’s a decision she’s set to seriously regret when her new husband attacks her just hours after saying “I do”…

“Pierce wants to get Rhona back home after the ceremony to give her a wedding present, and things take a very dark turn,” reveals Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona. “It seems that Pierce has bought them a house miles away from the village. They have an almighty row which turns violent, and things are said and done that I don’t think Rhona will ever get over. It changes their lives.”

Earlier that day, Rhona is all smiles as she prepares to marry her man. Even her former hubby Paddy seems reconciled to the prospect of Rhona getting hitched again, as he presents her with his mother’s necklace as a blessing. But it’s Pierce who seems anxious, after taking another secretive phone call shortly before the ceremony.

“Pierce is a little distracted at the church,” shares Zoe. “He’s still very angry about Vanessa bringing his mother to the village, because they have a difficult relationship and he just didn’t want to see her.

“But Rhona manages to write it all off as wedding jitters,” continues Zoe. “She loves Pierce, so she’s all guns blazing going into the big day.”

Even so, there’s a moment when it appears Pierce might be about to back out of getting married after all. And a shadow looms over what should be a romantic occasion…

“There is a tension to it,” admits Zoe. “Marlon’s there, and he’s pretty cool with Pierce, but there’s still that odd feeling with Paddy. Vanessa’s not around, and there aren’t many guests at all. None of Rhona or Pierce’s family turn up, which is telling. So it’s an odd, quiet affair – though maybe that’s what Rhona is after.

“This is her third wedding, so she doesn’t need a big old fancy do. All she wants is to have Pierce and her little boy Leo with her – they’re the two most important people. That’s why she looks blissfully happy.”

However, after Rhona and Pierce are eventually declared husband and wife, the smile is wiped off Rhona’s face as Pierce announces the news regarding their new home, and tempers start to flare – with devastating consequences. As furious Pierce pushes Rhona to the floor, what happens next will surely put an end to all hope of a happy ever after…

“Rhona initially thinks Pierce is desperate to get her back to

the house to take her to bed or give her something beautiful – but then all the wheels come off,” sighs Zoe. “What he does to her is so big and so awful that she’s really frightened. Pierce immediately claims that she was asking for it, which is another appalling act.

“Afterwards he tells Rhona to pull herself together, that people are gathering at the Woolpack for their reception and must be wondering where they are. But I don’t think for one second that Rhona knows what she should do next…”
