Foolish Finn makes a difficult decision in the hope of sorting his family’s money troubles this week – as he chooses to become an escort!
Typically, it’s not long before the youngest Barton is way out of his depth, and ends up having to leg it from his first client. But when Finn attempts to hide out at Wylie’s Farm, there’s another shock in store, as he and Ross discover that their parents’ former home is being used to grow cannabis. Actors Joe Gill (Finn) and Michael Parr (Ross) explain… There’s no shortage of drama for the Bartons this week! But let’s start at the beginning… Why does Finn decide to be an escort?
Joe He’s only doing it for the money! But he’s not really thinking the situation through. There was a bit of a to-do with Finn and an escort a little while ago, thanks to Tracy, so he’s seen how easy it can be to earn a quick buck. And he’s desperate at this point. Has he considered that he’ll have to sleep with them?
Joe Finn can play the innocent, but he’s smarter than you might think. So while he knows he’ll have to provide the full service to get more money, he’ll do his best to avoid it… What would Finn’s brothers make of the situation he’s putting himself in?

about the whole thing – so they don’t know how far he’s prepared to go to make cash!
How bad is the Bartons’ situation at this point?
Michael It’s pretty bad. They’ve been paying double rent – on the house in the village and on Wylie’s Farm. In all her grief, Emma’s forgotten she’s been paying for both. Plus, the taxi firm is struggling.
While Finn was in Australia, he spent some of the cab company cash on himself. He was having too good a time over there! But he’s not told any of his family yet.
It’s not like Finn to act so irresponsibly, is it?
Joe I think he just needed a blowout after everything that happened – the death of his dad James, and what went down with his boyfriend Kasim. He was just living for today, but now it’s tomorrow, and the consequences are going to catch up with him.
So how does Finn’s first date with a client go?
Joe It starts off a lot better than Finn was expecting, but to cut to the chase, after his client hands over the cash, Finn does everything he can not to sleep with the guy. Eventually the bloke loses his temper, so Finn makes a run for it! It was quite tough to shoot because I ended up running in every take – I was knackered by the end of the day!
After he flees the scene, Finn bumps into Ross at Wylie’s Farm, and they make their very unexpected discovery…
Michael While Finn is trying to lock himself in at Wylie’s to hide from his client, he trips on a wire – and it then turns out that squatters or whoever have moved in and set up a big old cannabis farm. And it really is big…
Joe It’s massive!
Of course, Ross sees the cannabis as a solution to their money problems – but aren’t the boys afraid of who might own it?
Joe Finn is definitely more afraid than Ross is! But do I think Finn will end up a drug lord? Something tells me it’s not up his street…
Michael Ross doesn’t see illegal drugs, he just sees pound signs. And the plot does thicken after this – though that’s all I can say for now. Ross never learns his lesson, does he?
Honestly! Nicking cattle, growing cannabis… is there nothing Ross won’t do for a fast buck?
Michael I don’t know – but it’s not like it ever pays off for him! He seems able to make money to help young Sarah pretty easily, but when it comes to cash for himself, he’s not too smart…
Joe The Bartons are their own worst enemies. They nearly always end up shooting themselves in the foot!
