Christmas in the Dales is shaping up to be a cracker, with plans for a special episode dedicated to fan favourites Robert and Aaron! Village bosses have revealed that the boys’ story will be the focus of this festive season and continue to sizzle in 2018, when the two of them officially tie the knot…
“Right now, Robert and Aaron are at the opposite ends of a long piece of elastic that is stretched pretty tight – but the events of Christmas and new year will bring them back together,” explains producer Iain Macleod. “There’s a big episode on Christmas Day that is more or less a ‘Robron’ single-strander. It’s probably the weirdest episode we’ve ever done, and the one I’ve been the most nervous about since I started on the show. It’s stylistically a bit weird, romantic, dramatic and entertaining – plus, it has a surprise cameo in it!”
So that begs the question: when should we go out and buy our hat?
“Oh, you might want to be careful about when you book your next holiday,” teases Iain with a laugh. “Basically what I’m saying is: the wedding is next summer!”
