If you use your imagination, the

Bake Off marquee could really be sited anywhere – so we’re going to focus really hard tonight and picture a fantastic Italian backdrop to fit in with the show’s first ever Italian week. It means the pressure is on for the six remaining bakers as they are pushed out of their comfort zones, starting with a Sicilian signature bake, then followed by a technical challenge that stretches them to their limits.

And of course it’s a Bake Off tradition that at least one episode per series should take place during an actual heatwave – just in case things weren’t challenging enough already! So tonight’s showstopper challenge happens to coincide with the hottest temperatures ever recorded inside the tent…
