Terese’s wedding day woes
SHE MAKES A SHOCK ANNOUNCEMENT AS THEY’RE ABOUT TO EXCHANGE THEIR VOWS…
All hell breaks loose at Terese and Gary’s wedding this week – after the guilty bride confesses that she slept with Paul Robinson!
Terese has spent the past few weeks being tortured by her secret, and although she loves Gary and wants to share the rest of her life with him, she can’t bear to start their marriage with a lie. But is their wedding day, in front of their stunned guests, the best time and place for her to make her stunning confession?
“Terese feels she betrayed Gary,” admits Rebekah Elmaloglou, who plays the burdened bride. “He has put her on a pedestal, not realising that she cheated on him – and Terese can’t continue with the lie. She sees him standing there, so excited about their future, and it just kills her. She can’t go into the marriage hiding this enormous secret.”
As the day of her wedding dawns, Terese is a bundle of nerves – for all the wrong reasons. She’s plagued by guilt over her infidelity with Paul, and is still not certain she’s making the right decision in marrying Gary. “Terese adores Gary – she loves his innocence and enthusiasm,” Rebekah tells us. “But at the same time, she’s very conflicted, since there are qualities in Paul that she finds attractive as well. She’s torn between two men who are complete opposites, but who make her happy in different ways. It’s very confusing.” To complicate matters, Paul suddenly rocks up in Erinsborough again on the morning of Terese’s wedding, leaving her feeling more confused than ever. Despite her inner turmoil, she eventually puts on her bridal dress and heads to the ceremony – yet once she’s standing by Gary’s side, preparing to say her vows, she realises that she needs to come clean. “The part of her that loves Gary still wants to go through with it – but as things

proceed, Terese can’t keep up the facade,” sighs Rebekah. “As you would expect, Gary is absolutely devastated and in shock. And he’s angry, too…”
If we were in Terese’s shoes, it wouldn’t just be Gary’s fury we’d be worried about – we definitely wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of his mother, Sheila!
So, as Gary processes his fiancée’s betrayal, will the couple decide to go ahead with the wedding – or is their romance over for good?
“It would be lovely if we got to see Terese and Gary’s wedding reception – I have a lot of fun working with Damien Richardson [who plays Gary], and I do love a good dance,” chuckles Rebekah. “However, I’m also very selfish and love playing out all the drama!”
