Fiz frets, as Tyrone lashes out
BUT WILL GUILTY FIZ TELL HIM HE’S PUNISHING THE WRONG CHILD?
All hell breaks loose for Tyrone and Fiz this week, when the furious father loses patience with his daughter Ruby – and smacks her!
The drama unfolds as
Ruby’s naughty sister Hope continues to misbehave and let her sibling take the blame. Tyrone shockingly snaps and takes his anger out on innocent Ruby – leaving Fiz with a big dilemma after she realises Ty has got it totally wrong…
“It takes a lot for Tyrone to lose his temper, as he has been a victim of violence in the past,” insists star Alan Halsall, reminding us of the abuse that his alter ego suffered at the hands of Ruby’s mother, Kirsty Soames. “It’s a snap moment where he’s just had enough and lashes out, which really goes against his character.”
The tension at No 9 is already sky high following the revelation that Tyrone did the dirty on Fiz with Gemma. That, coupled with the two young girls acting up and all the stress of Fiz leaving him to cope alone while she was away from the cobbles, has put a massive strain on their relationship – and Tyrone is at the end of his tether.
“Tyrone is having lots of problems at home and things there are pretty unstable,” explains Alan. “He’s having to deal with two children, and because one of them is being naughty, he doesn’t know how to handle it. Kids will be kids at the end of the day – Hope and Ruby are five and seven years old. But the pressure is getting to Ty, and he is definitely not in control.”
The situation comes to a head when Hope hides Tyrone’s keys and blames Ruby. It’s at this point that Fiz realises she needs to come clean to him about Hope’s behaviour – but as she and Tyrone sit down for a meal, water drips through the ceiling, and Tyrone discovers the upstairs sink plug has been blocked. He assumes Ruby is responsible, and that’s when he loses his temper.
“Fiz knows that for Tyrone to lash out at his child, he must be at breaking point,” shares Alan. “She’s aware she has to tell Tyrone what’s really been going on, which is a huge blow to him considering Fiz had suggested that Ruby’s like she is because of her mum. To even think about Kirsty is upsetting for him, so the fact that Fiz knew about Hope and hid it really hurts.”
With the truth out and Tyrone devastated over what he did to Ruby, is there any way back for him and Fiz after recent events?
“Their relationship is in bits anyway because of Tyrone’s mistake with Gemma,” says Alan. “But this incident with Ruby is the final straw. In Ty’s head they are done – he doesn’t see any way forward…”
