Simon robs and attacks Flora!
HAS HE FINALLY GONE TOO FAR AS HE ROBS AND ATTACKS THE PENSIONER?
Flora’s life is left on the line this week, after Simon’s lowlife sidekick Tyler breaks into the corner shop flat and attacks her! The heartless teens are trying to steal £250k, which Flora has inherited from her son Vinny. But when she returns home early from the Bistro to find the boys turning the place upside down, there are violent consequences.
CASHING IN!
The horrific scenes unfold after news of Flora’s windfall spreads around the Street – and soon more than one resident’s interest is piqued.
“It’s Adam who looks into Vinny’s estate, and finds that he’s left Flora all this money,” reveals star Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel. “It’s the most money Daniel or Sinead have ever been close to, and they’re pleased she’ll finally be able to afford a decent place to live.
“But while Daniel’s glad that he’ll now have his flat to himself, he’s equally protective of Flora. Which is why he’s not impressed when he finds out Tracy’s trying to get her hands on Flora’s cash…”
Daniel invites the locals to Vinny’s funeral – to make Flora think her son was well-liked – and Tracy soon cottons on to how much money the old lady has inherited.
She lies to Flora that ‘Harvey’ (Vinny’s real name) was her best friend – so perhaps Flora might fancy investing in the florist? Unsurprisingly, Daniel’s raging when he finds out…
“It’s typical Tracy!” tuts Rob. “However, having spent time with Flora over the past few months, Daniel knows she’s more than capable of facing off against her. But he does find a way of getting back at Tracy – by telling her that her boyfriend Steve kissed Michelle!”
MOVING ON…
Flora announces that she’ll soon be moving out of Daniel’s flat – allowing his girlfriend Sinead to finally move in – and organises a 1950s-themed bash at the Bistro to celebrate her unexpected windfall. But the revelries soon turn to horror!
As the merry pensioner sets about organising her big party, cunning Tyler is giving Simon the third degree about his elderly neighbour. Soon the wicked pair are cooking up a scheme to break into Daniel’s flat and help themselves to Flora’s inheritance – but their plot goes horribly wrong when Flora comes home unexpectedly. Tyler whacks her over the head with her own jewellery box, and makes his shameful escape alone. Thankfully, it’s not long before Daniel turns up – but what’s become of Simon?
“Flora goes back to the flat to get something,” explains Rob. “She’s gone quite a while, so Daniel goes to check on her, and finds her semiconscious on the floor. He’s really worried!”
It’s a huge relief when Flora comes round later – but not for Simon. Flora reveals that the lad who knocked her out did a runner, and names Simon as his accomplice – so he ends up getting arrested for burglary!

However, there’s a happier ending in store for Daniel…
SHACKING UP!
As relieved and grateful Flora thanks Daniel, she hands him her mother’s engagement ring – and insists that he use it to propose to Sinead!
“Flora orchestrates the whole thing by passing on this family heirloom,” shares Rob. “But Daniel’s reluctant at first, as he fears Sinead will say no. When he first asked her to move in, she said it was too soon, which knocked his confidence. I think he’d have proposed sooner, had it not been for that. He doesn’t want to lose what he’s got again.
“A proposal has always been on his mind, though – he’s just been waiting for the right time to do it. So Flora gives him a firm push in the right direction!”
As Daniel finally gets down on one knee, will Flora witness the happy ending she desires?
