Jean reveals how Ollie hurt her

The Slaters band together this week, when Jean lets slip that she can’t go back to husband Ollie – because he hurt her!
The revelation comes as Kat returns to Walford after a month away – and she can’t believe what she finds. Upon her arrival back on the Square, Kat is stunned to see that her dad’s old black cab is parked outside. But her shock turns to anger when she finds out that Jean, Mo, Stacey and Hayley are planning to keep the vehicle for ‘sentimental reasons’.
“Kat and the whole family are in dire need of cash, so she can’t see why they wouldn’t want to make the most of this bit of good fortune,” says our Walford insider. “She’s keen to pay back the money they owe Jean, so she can return to Ollie in Brighton. However, when
Kat mentions Ollie, it’s clear that Jean isn’t at all happy to hear her hubby’s name.”
Kat demands they decide the matter with a show of hands – but with the score tied at two apiece, it comes down to Jean to settle it with the casting vote. Jean tries to dodge the responsibility, though, and certainly doesn’t appear keen on a return to Brighton. What’s she hiding?
“Kat’s on to Jean like a shot,” explains our mole. “It’s clear as day that something bad has happened, and Kat won’t rest until she finds out what it is! When she and Jean are alone, Kat interrogates her relative, who eventually cracks and admits that she’s avoiding going back to her husband because he hurt her! It’s an astonishing revelation, as Ollie seemed
like the perfect gentleman! He and Jean always gave the impression of being happy together. How could he do such a thing?”
A little later, Kat confides in Mo that Ollie has been hitting Jean, but tells her nan that she has a plan. She explains how she’s been in touch with Ollie and invited him round for lunch at the weekend, so she can get to the bottom of things. However, Mo and Kat receive a massive shock when Ollie turns up there and then at the front door of No 31!
“Kat and Mo are momentarily thrown by Ollie’s sudden arrival – though once the pair have composed themselves, they waste no time in telling the fella exactly what they think of him!” gasps our sneak. “As far as they’re concerned, this is beyond the pale. Ollie seems taken aback, and desperately attempts to explain what really happened – the two women are in full-on attack mode, though, and he can’t get a word in sideways!”
The situation spirals out of control, as Jean is shocked when she finds out what her well-meaning relatives have done, and she tries to defend her husband. Is it because Ollie is manipulating her, or has the whole thing been an awful misunderstanding?
