Brody helps Milo to woo Liberty

BUT CAN BRODY HELP THE HAPLESS FELLA TO IMPRESS LIBERTY?

- Sarah Ellis

Milo enlists Brody’s help to woo Liberty this week – but there are disastrous consequences! When Brody spots clueless Milo making a fool out of himself in front of Dirk’s daughter, he encourages his pal to just ask out Liberty on a date. Yet after inadvertently inviting Cindy and Dirk along too, it’s clear that Milo needs some serious help…

“Bless Milo, he’s never had a girlfriend!” explains Nathan Morris, who plays him. “He’s socially awkward – and romantically, he’s just useless! Liberty is so exotic to him, she’s so bubbly and bright, and I don’t think he’s ever met anyone quite like her.

He’s instantly smitten, but he doesn’t think that he stands a chance with her.

“Milo knows he needs to seek help, which is why he turns to Brody,” adds the star. “He knows that no woman in Hollyoaks is safe from this ladies’ man!”

Brody is only too happy to step in and offer his expertise, and agrees to feed lines to Milo through an earpiece during his hot date! Needless to say, things don’t quite run smoothly…

“When does it ever go to plan for Milo?” muses Nathan. “That was such a funny scene to film, because the director allowed us a bit of freedom. I really wanted to play on the fact that Milo would be so awkward and bumbling, and would say the wrong things. I haven’t seen the finished version yet, but the crew were laughing their heads off. Milo and Liberty are a match made in comedy heaven!”

Whether Liberty falls for Milo’s questionable charms remains to be seen. However, Nathan reckons he and co-star Jessamy Stoddart (Liberty) are rooting for their characters to make a go of things.

“Jessamy has been lovely to work with, we’ve had so much fun together,” grins the actor. “Even we were saying, ‘Oh, we hope that it works out between them because they’re so lovely together’. They actually complement each other because they’re both completely bonkers!”

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Milo’s plot to enlist Brody doesn’t backfire on him spectacularly. And Nathan has a few words of advice of his own for his bumbling alter ego.

“I’m not exactly a Romeo myself, but I would tell Milo to relax,” he shares. “I think the reason he gets himself into so much trouble is because he lacks self-belief – I guess it comes from being treated badly by his family and being bullied. He doesn’t believe anybody would want to be his friend or girlfriend.

“I would tell him to believe in himself, because he is a good person deep down. He would be a nice boyfriend – he just needs to chill out a bit!”

“Milo and Liberty are completely bonkers!”
