Family crisis!
AS DOCTORS RETURNS, THERE ARE SHOCKS IN STORE FOR RUHMA AND HESTON…
All hell breaks loose for Heston and Ruhma this week, as officer Rob arrives on their doorstep to inform them that Heston’s car has been involved in a hit-and-run accident, and that Tariq – the ex-boyfriend of Ruhma’s daughter Alia – is the victim!
With the family recently finding out that Tariq circulated a video of him and Alia having sex, the entire household has good reason to resent him. But would any of them have gone as far as to try to kill him?
“Tariq is seriously hurt,” admits Bharti Patel, who plays midwife Ruhma. “And while anybody could have taken Heston’s car, they all claim not to have noticed it was even missing. When Rob turns up, it’s very Inspector Clouseau, with Heston, Ruhma, Alia and her brother Shak all playing their parts Oscar-winningly! “They all stick to their stories, and while they may or may not be oblivious about who’s to blame, they all protect each other, and give nothing away. That’s the kind of family they are.”
The whole family was devastated to discover that heartless Tariq had made the sex tape of him and Alia, and they all end up in the frame as the police investigate the hit-and-run incident – putting everyone under huge pressure.
“Tariq was Alia’s first boyfriend, and they all thought he was a lovely lad,” admits Bharti. “But then he did something terrible. Ruhma’s been trying to comfort Alia since then, and she’s very angry. However, if something was needed to resolve the situation, it wasn’t this, with Tariq left so badly hurt…”
As the family remains tight-lipped, does it really mean that one of them is guilty of attempted murder?
“The scripts are so wellwritten, I don’t think viewers will be able to work out who’s done what,” teases Bharti. “They’ve all got a motive, so they’re all acting suspiciously, trying to cover for one another. When somebody hurts your family, what lengths would you go to in order to protect them?”
