Actress Chizzy Akudolu picks her dream viewing…
The Handmaid’s
Tale is really uncomfortable viewing
– it’s very painful and it makes you angry, but it’s just compelling. I like to bingewatch shows, yet this is one where I kind of need time to decompress afterwards – so I put Family Guy on before I go to bed!
I love Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
– this series, not so much, but the last three I thought were brilliant. Titus is one of those characters who you kind of want to hang out with! And I adore Rupaul’s
Drag Race. I reckon in a past life, I was a drag queen –
I think they’re fabulous.
I can’t get away from
The Shawshank Redemption.
It’s the sort of film that if it’s on and I have to go to bed, I’ll still watch it even though I have Sky+ – it doesn’t feel right recording it and watching it the next day! The relationship in it between Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman is so wonderful.
My chillout TV is Judge Judy
– I love it. I met Byrd [the bailiff] once, and if I met Judge Judy, that would be it. She’s horrible and belligerent, but I love her! And the older she’s got, the sharper she’s got – man, she’s on the ball, you can’t pull the wool over her eyes!
It’s too late now, but I would have enjoyed being on Game Of Thrones.
I would like to have been a warrior, such as Brienne of Tarth. I think Jon Snow is the show – that dark curly hair, all that leather, and then the fur, which I heard is Ikea rugs, because they didn’t want to use real fur!
