The actress – whose Square character was sensationally killed off – has swapped her fair hair to go brunette. Sam has previously joked that she could return to the Square as Ronnie’s “weird Australian twin sister”, so maybe this is her chance!

ROVERS RETURN?

Street treasure Katherine Kelly admits that she often thinks about a return to Weatherfield for her character Becky Mcdonald. “I’ve been asked this question so many times that I actually think about it very deeply,” confesses the star, who left the cobbles in 2012 before starring in shows such as Mr Selfridge and The Night Manager. “But even though the door was left open, it would be hard for me to go back.

Some things are better left where they are.”

Huge congratulations to Oscar-winner and ex-hollyoaks actress Rachel Shenton who, in the midst of scooping an Academy Award for her short film, The Silent Child, wed her fiancé and co-writer, Chris Overton. “We got married not so long ago, during all the madness!” admits Rachel, aka Mitzeee Minniver. “It was a private event, but we’re so happy. It’s been such a busy 12 months that I don’t know what we’re doing next year!”
