Hayley gives birth to her baby

This is the moment when pregnant Hayley’s waters break – and it dawns on her that she’s about to have Alfie Moon’s baby!
However, disaster strikes after the determined Slater woman makes the reckless decision to drive herself to the hospital alone – worried that cousin Kat will finally learn the truth about the father’s identity…
“Let’s just say that no birthing plan in the world could have prepared Hayley for her nightmare journey to Walford General,” grimaces our Square insider. “Everything that can go wrong does. And as for that blimmin’ taxi she’s been so desperate to drive, well – she’ll never want to lay eyes on it again after this!”
At the start of the week, Hayley’s fears mount as her due date looms closer, and she panics that the truth about Alfie will soon be exposed. The terrified mum-to-be attempts to leave Walford before any more damage can be done – yet quickly learns that doing a flit while nine months pregnant won’t be nearly as straightforward as she hopes.
Hayley’s plan is to escape to a mother-and-baby hostel – but the centre informs her that she needs to have her child first before she can book in. So she decides that she wants to hurry the labour process along in any way that she possibly can…
“Hayley gets some advice from Karen – with surprising results!” grins our mole. “However, her idea is thwarted when Kat, Mo and Jean arrive home early and their relative realises that it’s not going to work. But then her waters break anyway, and there is no turning back!”
Panicking, Hayley’s next move is to jump into the Slater cab – only for oblivious Ian to get into the back as a paying customer! Realising she has no choice but to boot him out, Hayley drops Ian at the tube station and heads for the hospital by herself – just as her contractions move up a gear.
While the pain intensifies, Hayley struggles to drive, just as the absolute worst happens – her taxi breaks down! With that, the terrified woman’s sole option is to ask for help, so she phones Keanu – only for the call to go to voicemail!
Meanwhile, Kat and Jean realise that Hayley is missing, and it dawns on them that she must be in labour. But as they worry for her, powerless to help, poor Hayley is forced to accept that she is stranded – and she gives birth to her baby alone…

Once her baby is born, Hayley calls for help – but as her little ’un starts to cry, the exhausted woman passes out.
Back in the Square, the Slaters are having the Halloween from hell, fretting over their lost relative, though thankfully Keanu finally shows up at their door after receiving Hayley’s SOS voicemail.
The group mounts a frantic search, before eventually coming across Hayley’s abandoned cab – with sounds of a crying baby nearby. To their horror, Kat and Keanu find Hayley unconscious and her child in distress. After mother and baby are rushed to hospital, the Slaters flock to Hayley’s beside – should they prepare themselves for the worst?
