Keegan hunts down the vandal

CAN CARMEL COME TO HIS AID BEFORE HE MAKES A BIG MISTAKE?

- Tom Spilsbury

Keegan entertains dark thoughts of revenge as Halloween night arrives in Albert Square – will Carmel be the person who realises what’s going on inside the lad’s head?

In the months since his best friend Shakil was murdered, Keegan has struggled to come to terms with what happened. His deep-rooted anger bubbles to the surface again this week, when someone defaces the poster of his pal – which was recently put on display by Shakil’s mother, Carmel.

“Keegan is seething after he sees what some vandal has done to the poster,” reveals our Walford informant. “It’s painful enough that Shakil is dead, but Keegan can’t bear to think that someone is insulting his memory like this. He just wants to hunt down the person responsible and make them pay.”

However, when Keegan informs Carmel about his anger, she responds by telling him to just forget about it. She reasons that it’s kids messing around, and it’s not worth finding the culprit – making it clear that she and son Kush won’t be taking any action. So Keegan goes it alone, and tracks down the boy responsible on social media.

“Keegan has all of this rage inside of him,” sighs our spy. “Once he discovers the defacer’s identity, he joins in with some trick-ortreating. He obviously has a plan in mind, though – will others work out that he’s hiding something?”

When Bernadette and Tiffany bump into him, Bernie senses something strange about Keegan’s behaviour, and Carmel picks up on similar vibes a little later on. But with no clue as to his plans, they’re powerless to intervene. What they don’t realise is that Keegan is secretly sending messages to his target, goading them to agree to a meeting. And when Keegan thinks he’s spotted the guilty youth, he starts to follow him at a discreet distance.

However, it soon becomes clear that Keegan has mistakenly followed the wrong person – and he begins to have doubts about his own plot. He’s about to give up altogether until he receives another provocative message from the vandal. Filled with fresh fury, Keegan sets off to meet the troll, intending to teach him a lesson that he will never forget…

“Keegan is acting with exactly the same hotheadedness that saw him steal that bicycle all those months ago, leading to Shakil’s death,” laments our insider. “When he approaches his target, all he can focus on is the idea of making him pay! Even after everything Keegan has been through since that awful night, he’s really not learned anything.”

Back at the Vic, Carmel tells Denise that she’s feeling worried about Keegan – and after the other Taylors turn up at the pub without him, Carmel senses something is terribly wrong, so rushes to find him.

Can she manage to track down the lad before someone gets terribly hurt?

“All Keegan can focus on is making this vandal pay!”
