“We want Raf to come back as a ghost!”

-

The image of Raf Di Lucca being shot dead still haunts us to this day, but at least the Holby gang can console themselves with the hospital shooting being voted as your Best Drama Storyline! Stars Alex Walkinshaw (Fletch) and Kaye Wragg (Essie) are absolutely thrilled to be joined by their former co-star – and last year’s

Strictly Come Dancing winner – Joe Mcfadden (Raf) to collect the award…

Hey, guys! So, tell us how it feels to have won…

Kaye Amazing! But also bittersweet at the same time, as we don’t have Joe with us any more – although at least he’s gone out on a high.

Joe Some people [Looks across at former co-stars] have enjoyed seeing me killed, which is a little bit worrying!

Alex I’ve taken no pleasure in it whatsoever.

Kaye Honestly, we sit by Raf’s memorial weeping quite a lot!

Did you find it traumatic when you were filming Raf’s death scene?

Joe Not at all. We were all giggling, to be honest!

Alex At the time, Joe was training for Strictly, so he was busy doing his pas de bourrées and jetés between scenes!

Were you excited to learn that you would be reunited to collect this award?

Kaye Yes! I was so excited as it’s hard to get together when we’re all so busy. Alex I haven’t seen Joe since taking my daughter to see the Strictly tour. She loves him!

Joe, do you think you might fancy returning to Holby as a ghost?

Joe I’d love it, but I don’t think that can happen…

Alex Arthur Digby came back. You could come back for us!

Kaye We could have a special episode, just for the three of us. You’re tap-dancing down the corridor and I hear the tapping in the distance…

Joe …and then you could join in with me, and we’ll all do a big routine together!

Can you give us any hints about what’s going to be coming up in the show?

Kaye It’s Holby’s 20th anniversary in January, so there are going to be loads of surprises over the next few months. If you’re a massive Holby fan and you’ve watched the show from the very beginning, you’re going to love this coming year!
