Shirley throws Linda out of the Vic

SHE THROWS OUT THE VIC’S LANDLADY FOR ABANDONING MICK AND SIDING WITH STUART…

- Tom Spilsbury

The Carter family falls apart this week, as Shirley snaps and throws treacherous Linda out on to the street! The fractious situation has been threatening to boil over for the past couple of months, ever since Linda announced that she couldn’t continue to ignore the mounting evidence that her husband really did shoot vile Stuart. While Shirley has been staggered that Linda could even dream about giving up on Mick, she’s gone over the edge completely now that Linda has actually come out in support of Stuart! What on earth is she thinking?

“This is the man who cruelly tortured Tina by tying her up in the boot of a car back in 1994,” our Walford insider reminds us. “He’s also the person who has bullied and intimidated Linda on multiple occasions. There are no shades of grey here. Even if Mick was the one responsible for shooting

Stuart, it really beggars belief that Linda would have any sympathy for this monster!”

As the week begins, Tina, Whitney and Halfway continue their efforts to make Linda see sense. They try to pressure her into visiting Mick in prison, and beg her to see through Stuart’s manipulative lies. However, Linda is adamant that she has washed her hands of Mick, and even refuses to put her wedding ring back on. The rest of the family are utterly stunned, unable to understand what could be going through Linda’s mind right now.

When Stuart himself arrives at the Queen Vic later, Tina is quick to give him a verbal lashing. But as the tense atmosphere escalates, Linda tries to calm things down – and tells Stuart that he can stay!

“This situation is a surreal nightmare!” gasps our snitch. “Linda is rolling out the red carpet for the Carters’ arch-nemesis! Whitney tries to stand up for Mick in front of the other punters, but that’s not worth much when even the geezer’s own wife doesn’t believe that he’s innocent!”

Later, Stuart and Linda have a tender conversation, and he even tries to convince her that she could still have a future with Mick. Will she be willing to take back her husband if the man whom he apparently shot can show forgiveness towards him?

SHIRLEY’S RAGE!

When Shirley makes a surprise return to the Vic the following day, she’s appalled to see what’s been going on in her absence. And as soon as she spots Linda, she loses her rag and lashes out at Stuart, who is smugly smiling at the chaos he’s caused.

After speaking with Tina, Shirley assures her they won’t let Mick go down without a fight. She then contacts Phil, to see if he can help persuade lawyer Ritchie to represent Mick again. Yet given that Ritchie reckons the weight of evidence against Mick is too compelling, is the case a lost cause?

Returning to the Vic, Shirley grabs Linda’s belongings and throws them over the bar, telling her daughter-in-law that if she never claps eyes on her again it will be too soon!

“A line has been drawn in the sand, that’s for sure!” reckons our spy. “As far as Shirley is concerned, Linda has made her bed – with Stuart – so she can lie on it with him! With her family against her, Linda is left with no choice but to stay with Stuart for the night. How has it come to this?”

Fuming Linda returns to the Vic the following morning, determined to get her home back. And the fight gets dirtier when she phones the police to report Shirley!

“The cops turn up and tell Shirley that she can’t throw Linda out,” shrieks our sneak. “Well, you can imagine how Shirley reacts to that! At this rate, the entire Carter family will be joining Mick behind bars – and wicked Stuart will have truly won…”
