Who has Lisa got involved with?
RACHEL ADEDEJI IS OVER THE MOON TO BE BACK ON THE HOLLYOAKS SET…
I’ve missed Lisa’s outfits – I was hoping I could still get away with wearing those hot pants!” laughs Rachel Adedeji, aka Lisa Loveday, as we talk to her about returning to Hollyoaks following her break from the show while on maternity leave. “My daughter, Lillian, is nearly 10 months now. She’s a little madam, but I couldn’t ask for a better best mate!”
Rachel’s all smiles as she reveals that her little girl and Jen Metcalfe’s (Mercedes) son, Daye, get along really well – and she tells us how much the cast of Hollyoaks wanted to meet her new arrival when she was born back in December last year.
“I brought Lillian into work a few times,” she grins. “You think you’ll pop in for five minutes, and you end up on a twohour trip around the building, because everyone wants to hold your baby!”
And despite her screen clan being full of turmoil, Rachel shares just how close she is to her Loveday cast mates.
“They were all fantastic – I couldn’t get away from them even if I tried!” she beams. “They were on my doorstep 24/7. It was so nice because I’m based in Liverpool, and this isn’t my home, so the Lovedays are the next best thing to actual relatives for me.”
Rachel’s alter ego Lisa recently made a return to Hollyoaks village amid yet more family trauma, having left last year when her secret affair with her boyfriend’s father, Mac, was revealed. Following that, Simone kindly bought Lisa a ticket to Thailand, and sent her packing so that she could escape the drama of Chester.
“Lisa’s back!” exclaims Rachel. “Someone booked her a plane ticket home, and she thanks her family for sorting it out – although it wasn’t them! Lisa, being the naughty lady she is, is aware who really bought the ticket, but is playing games with them too. I can’t say who, but there’s a mysterious person Lisa has got involved with.”
We can’t help but wonder if this person has anything to do with Liam, who is still investigating the WAGS. Or maybe it’s the mystery fella that Lisa left back in Thailand? Either way, she’s missed a lot, including her mum’s involvement with the murder of evil Glenn Donovan – but Rachel assures us it won’t be long until Lisa has caught up with their antics.
Lisa won’t be pleased if she finds out about her dad and aunt
“Her mum and brother bring her up to speed with what’s going on,” reveals the actress. “And if Lisa finds out about her dad and her Auntie Martine being secretly married, she won’t be pleased. She was there when her family went through so much, and that’s another bombshell that she’ll find out about at some point!”
Rachel’s bagged herself a lot of explosive storylines in the past – even before she was on screen, Lisa was the Lovedays’ long-lost daughter. Then came the affair with Mac and the death of her boyfriend, Nathan. So we ask Rachel what’s in store for her alter ego in the coming weeks.
“Expect drama, as there’s always drama with Lisa!” she teases. “And expect the sassiness to return. She has been through a lot, though, so there’s vulnerability too. People forget she has a lot of baggage, and I think that will soon start to unravel…”
