Having returned from Spain with his and Kat’s three sons in tow, Alfie is determined to make their first Christmas back in Walford absolutely perfect. However, while he buzzes around assigning duties to the huge army of people who are now inhabiting No 31, Jean warns him that with 16 people now living under the same roof, something has to change – and pronto!
“Jean is right, it’s all just getting out of hand,” frowns our Walford informant. “You can’t fit that many people into one medium-sized house without some of them resorting to sleeping in the bath, or under the kitchen sink! Realising that Jean might have a point, ever-resourceful Alfie comes up with a new scheme designed to solve the overcrowding issue, and announces the grand idea to the rest of the family. Although given Alfie’s woeful track record with problem-solving, will it manage to do the trick?”
As part of the master plan, Martin and Stacey agree to swap rooms with Alfie and Kat. And Kat is quick to exploit the next opportunity to take her hubby upstairs for a bit of Posh and Becks! The frisky pair’s initial attempt to have some special alone-time is thwarted when a delivery man rings the doorbell with a huge shipment for Alfie. However, they’re not to be outdone for long, and once he’s sent the interloper on his way, Alfie enters the bedroom, and kisses his wife on the lips…
“This has been a long time coming,” smirks our spy. “Suddenly, all of their past indiscretions are put to one side, as though they never happened. Alfie has at last forgiven Kat for copping off with that Russian fella in Spain and endangering Ernie, while Kat has erased all memory of how Alfie once set fire to

Soap, we’re steeling ourselves for the happy reunion to be torn apart. With Christmas fast approaching, we know that it’s only a matter of time before Kat finds out that Alfie fathered Hayley’s little girl. And when that happens, those festive nutcrackers might be put to another use…
