STE’S RADICAL NEW PLOT!
Ste is set to be targeted by a farright extremist group in a hardhitting new Hollyoaks storyline. Newcomer Jonny – played by former X Factor star and Dancing On Ice champ Ray Quinn – will identify Ste as a candidate for anti-muslim radicalisation, after learning of his vendetta against the Maaliks, whom Ste blames for the death of his sister Tegan.
“After a lot of eye-opening research, I’m nervous and honoured – but most of all excited – for this very different soap story to be told by our amazing team and my talented new screen partner, Ray Quinn,” says star Kieron Richardson, who plays Ste.
“From our research, we realised that Ste was disenfranchised and vulnerable enough to be groomed into extreme views,” adds Hollyoaks’ executive producer, Bryan Kirkwood. “The more that we learned about how these groups operate and how insidious they are, the more passionate we became about telling this story, which is about how hate and fear can destroy communities.”
Ste’s frightening new chapter is to unfold over the coming months.
