Anyone else noticed that BBC Radio has been playing Cliff Richard a lot recently? Ahem. Anyway, it’s off to ITV for this one-off documentary boasting exclusive access to Sir Cliff as he celebrates 60 years in the biz and launches his 104th (104th!!) UK album, the appropriately titled Rise Up. There are interviews with the likes of Barry Gibb, Hank Marvin, Andrew Lloyd-webber and Brian May, while Cliff himself talks openly about his career – not shying away from that televised raid on his home in 2014, and the ensuing battle to clear his name. Now 78, the Peter Pan of pop is back – and after worldwide record sales of more than 250 million and counting, his millennium prayers seem to have been answered.
