Despite her incredible career beginning at such a young age, Lysette didn’t have

the easiest home life. Her mother suffered from manic depression and schizophrenia. “Mum was so wonderful in so many ways,” explains Lysette. “But she was also extremely difficult. I was sent to boarding school at the age of 10 and I think Mum was trying to protect me, to spare me living through the day-today reality of her illness.”
