We’re intrigued about what’s going on between Dawn and Harriet…

Me too! I’m really pleased we’re exploring Dawn’s history. She came in as a part of Ross’ acid attack story, but clearly has a lot of problems. Her heart is in the right place, though, and it’s very important that we see why this vulnerable woman is where she is today.

Harriet is probably the last person viewers would expect Dawn to be linked to, isn’t she?

Yes – Harriet makes out that she doesn’t know Dawn, but there’s some real history between them. There are some shocking revelations to come, and some great twists…

Are you enjoying playing Dawn so far?

I am. She’s feisty and complicated, which is challenging as an actor. It’s not always pretty – I wish she had better fashion sense, had a bath and washed her hair! – but apart from that, I’m absolutely loving it!

We understand Dawn has scenes coming up with Moira, who lost her daughter Holly to drugs. Is their relationship also set to be explored?

It’s important to see how addiction affects people, so maybe Moira could be involved in supporting Dawn, and they could connect over Holly’s loss. I think that would be fascinating to watch.

Dawn’s journey sounds as if it’ll be interesting…

I’m really excited, and hopeful about where the story goes. She’ll continue to make mistakes and wreak havoc, and there’s lots of drama ahead. But hopefully, there’ll be some positivity among the darkness!
