Beth, Ches & Kirk turn to crime

THEY STEAL FROM DEV TO PAY FOR HER TREATMENT…

- Tom Spilsbury

Sinead’s pals come up with a lunatic scheme this week, staging a robbery to raise the funds to pay for her cancer treatment! Beth, Chesney and Kirk devise their dangerous heist after Sinead is told that her cancer has spread and she needs to start her chemo as soon as possible. Determined to do whatever she can to help her niece, Beth manages to locate a specialist cancer clinic in Germany, which would be perfect to provide Sinead with the treatment that she needs. However, the bill will cost thousands of pounds!

“Beth is doing what most of us would to help a loved one,” reasons our Coronation Street insider. “But there’s no way on Earth she can get hold of that money – at least, not legally! That’s the point when her brain starts thinking of more dubious ways to raise the cash, so she talks to Chesney about her idea. Oh Beth, what trouble are you getting everyone into?”

Beth suggests to Chesney that they stage a mugging while he’s in possession of the day’s takings from Prima Doner, therefore absolving him of any blame. However, they still need someone to play the role of the mugger…

“Beth ropes in Kirk for this job,” reveals our sneak. “And

Beth is doing what most of us would to help a loved one…”

once he has a balaclava over his head, the robbery seemingly goes to plan. Chesney collects the shop’s takings from Dev, to take to the bank in the usual way, and once he’s out on the street, Kirk snatches the bag from him and sprints off! Dev tries to chase after the disguised thief, but to no avail. As far as he’s concerned, it’s nothing to do with loyal Ches. Poor Dev doesn’t deserve this!”

After the successful robbery, Beth presents Sinead with the stolen cash to pay for the special treatment. The grateful lass is suspicious, however, as she spots the discarded balaclava on the table, and is even more sceptical when she hears about the kebab shop robbery. Putting two and two together, Sinead realises where the cash has come from. She then hands it back to Dev, claiming that she found the bag of notes dumped by the bins. Dev is instantly dubious about this unlikely turn of events, and even more so when he can find no sign of Sinead ever being near the bins on the CCTV footage.
