Phil turns midwife for Kim!
IT’S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE…
There’s big drama for Kim this Christmas – as she goes into labour with only Phil Mitchell there to help deliver her baby boy!
A crazy series of events sees Kim and Phil get locked in the Minute Mart storeroom, just as Kim realises that her waters have broken. With baby HubbardFox about to make an appearance, Phil has to find his inner midwife to keep distraught Kim calm, and get the baby out safely. Given their surroundings are worse than a manger and there are no wise men around at all, will this makeshift Walford Nativity have a happy ending?
“There’s no way Kim would have shortlisted Phil of all people to be her birthing partner!” laughs Tameka Empson, who plays the mum-to-be. “But when you are in that position, you have to take who’s around, and he happens to be there. I don’t think it will ever be the same between them!”
Welcoming her new son is a bittersweet experience for Kim, since her husband, Vincent, suddenly went missing. The truth is that Phil had a part to play in terrified Vincent vanishing without a trace, and he’s carrying a lot of guilt about what that’s done to Kim and their daughter Pearl. So would Tameka like to see Phil and Kim strike up a friendship after this?
“It would be nice now they’ve shared this moment, and I think Phil does like Kim,” shares the star. “Phil was one of the last people to see Vincent, so he might

feel terrible about that. If Kim found out he had something to do with her husband’s disappearance, she would rip Phil to shreds – and Phil would probably let her, because he can see that she’s not a bad person. When a child is involved, it changes the dynamics – she’d really go for Phil now!”
What’s life going to be like for Kim now she has Pearl and a newborn to look after?
“I think it’ll be the making of her,” grins Tameka. “She has this drive to prove that she can do this. It won’t be easy, and it’ll be interesting to see how she copes.
One child is fair enough, but two?”
