STACEY CAN’T BELIEVE HER EYES…
There’s a shock for Stacey this fortnight, when she finds out who her mum Jean has been kissing under the mistletoe – her new boyfriend Ian Beale!
She’s furious after an argument over Jean’s worrying behaviour results in Hayley blurting out the truth about Ian. Not only is Stacey incredulous that Jean could fancy Ian, but she’s also hurt that Hayley knew first. However, it’s poor Ian who bears the brunt of Stacey’s wrath.
“It’s not the kind of welcome that any newcomer would want to their partner’s family,” laughs our Eastenders insider. “Stacey is rude and nasty to Ian, yet that’s mostly because she’s been so wound up about Jean being off her meds. Stacey calms down eventually, though, and starts to realise that there’s a genuine connection between them.”
There’s been concern about Jean’s frantic behaviour as she tries to organise the carol concert and get the choir up to scratch. A misunderstanding leads Stacey to believe her mum has stopped taking her medication – but fortunately, that’s not the case, and soon she accepts Jean is just stressed about the concert.
So, as the carollers prepare to put on a show, with Ian part of the line-up, Jean is ready to bring festive joy to the Square. Will it go to plan, and how will Ian find his first Christmas with the Slaters?
