Bob’s festive fail!
IT’S A GIFT DISASTER FOR THE HOPE TWINS...
Skint Bob is set to be lonely this Christmas – as he struggles to pay for gifts or find somewhere to stay.
While his debts mount at the B&B, Bob panics about how to settle his bill, and where he’ll find the money to buy the twins the games console they desperately want. With his friends and family unaware of how bad things are, Bob is isolated and despairing.
“Bob’s putting on a brave face and just trying to smile through it – he doesn’t want to trouble anyone,” explains Tony Audenshaw, who plays the feckless father.
“The twins are being demanding, and Bob can’t even afford to have a Christmas do with his mates because he doesn’t have the cash to buy a few rounds.”
It looks as though Bob’s luck might be changing when Harriet asks for somebody to work as an elf at the hospital. After putting in a shift, Bob’s horrified to learn it was voluntary work, and he won’t get a penny for his troubles.
“Following that, he considers stealing one of Santa Claus’ presents because he’s just so desperate,” shares Tony. “When he leaves the hospital, he finds his car has been towed with his wallet in it! He’s having a pretty bad Christmas.”
Somehow, Bob manages to deliver on the console that Heath and Cathy wanted, but they are really disappointed to have no games to go with it. Surely it’s time for Bob to admit that he’s sinking fast – or will he end up homeless and in even worse trouble?
