Will it be a bumpy ride for these Hollyoaks couples this Christmas?
Life in Hollyoaks has more ups and downs than a merry-go-round, so what better setting for our festive shoot than a fairground? First up, we grabbed Anna Passey and Adam Woodward – aka the village’s hottest new couple Sienna and Brody – for a romantic turn on the waltzers. But will Christmas be a much smoother ride for their Chester alter egos?
Brody and Sienna have had a pretty turbulent relationship so far, but will the two of them be reuniting for Christmas?
Anna I think they are together for Christmas, aren’t they?
Adam Yes, I think so…
Anna They’re so on and off that it’s difficult to keep track of. But they are – Brody turns up with little angels for Sienna. They sort themselves out for the festive season, and it looks hopeful from there.
Sienna’s been spending time with Laurie recently – will he cause tension between her and Brody?
Adam Oh God! That guy, he’s always cropping up!
Anna Laurie’s just mentoring Sienna at the school – she’s grateful that he has taken her under his wing. At this point, Sienna just believes that he’s being helpful and generous.
What do you make of Sienna and Brody as a couple?
Anna We absolutely love them together – they’re so cute! The two of them have so much baggage and history, but actually when they’re together everything is just simple.
Adam Exactly! They’re complicated characters, but simple together.
Anna The writers give us really cute stuff, I can’t bear it sometimes! They’re setting some extremely high boyfriend standards.
Adam The viewers’ reaction has been really positive from what I’ve noticed so far. They think it’s nice to finally see Sienna in a stable relationship!
We hope your Christmas isn’t as dramatic as it is in Hollyoaks – do you have Christmas traditions?
Adam I just try to watch as many Christmas films as I can in one day!
Anna You’d not be welcome at ours then! TV is banned over Christmas. But we do have a tradition from Poland – you set an extra place at the table just in case someone can’t get home. My mum tries to fill it with people she finds while walking the dog.
What about a Hollyoaks ‘Secret Santa’ – which cast mate would you want to get, and what gift would you buy them?
Adam I’d want Jacob Roberts [Damon]. There’s a few things I could buy him, but I’d get a can of soup for a laugh!
Anna If I could spend an unlimited amount of fantasy money, I’d get Jessica Fox [who plays Nancy] a trip to Copenhagen. Then I can go with her!
Adam Well, if we’re going on fantasy money, I’ll buy Jacob a boat!
Sinead’s life is so full of drama that trying to keep up with it all makes us dizzy! But as star Steph Davis – who plays her – takes to the carousel with screen hubby Kyle Pryor (Laurie), they inform us there’s even more action to come…
Sinead and Laurie’s relationship is very up and down – what will Christmas look like for them?
Kyle It’s definitely not all festive for our characters, is it?
Steph There are some really big arguments coming up between them, so there will be breaking up and making up over Christmas.
Kyle They have a big fight, and Laurie just disappears. You don’t know whether it’s the end of their relationship after that.
Steph But there’s a little twist at the end to look out for…
Just watching the two of you interacting on our shoot today, it’s clear you have a really great relationship off screen…
Steph We do, and we always have a good laugh together. I think it’s great when you get someone to work with who’s on your wavelength – we’re both so passionate about it. We want to do the best we can.
Kyle You never know how it’s going to be when you get a new on-screen partner, because sometimes you don’t gel with that person, but you still have to find a way to make it work for the characters.
Steph We’re both just buzzing that we have each other – we know we’re dead lucky. He’s ace!
We’ve detected a spark between Laurie and Sienna on screen – could that be a thing?
Kyle Yeah, at the moment Laurie is Sienna’s mentor, so she starts confiding in him, and vice versa. But he may have some unjust reasons for doing what he’s doing – it’s a control thing for Laurie most of the time. He wants to feel empowered.
Steph We all know what Sienna’s like, yet Laurie might be worse! It shows the viewers his narcissistic traits, where he almost sees Sienna’s dark past as a bonus in a way.
What’s Christmas going to look like for you two in real life?
Steph Well, Kyle might be coming to mine – but he’s had a lot of offers!
Kyle I’m a bit of an orphan this year, so I’m just going to everyone that I know’s house for Christmas lunch.
Steph I’ll just be spending the day at home with my son, Caben. He’ll be turning two in January, so he’s at the perfect age for Christmas – and I’m dead excited. I’ve given him a few of his presents early, as I just couldn’t resist! He’s absolutely obsessed with
The Lion King and Tarzan.
Kyle I’m not coming to yours on Christmas Day dressed as Tarzan! But I’m looking forward to having a proper, British Christmas – I hope it snows!
