SINEAD’S BABY DRAMA

My heart broke for poor Sinead in Corrie, when she was forced to deliver her baby boy early so she could undergo her cancer treatment. But will she and little Bertie both survive their ordeal?

I’ve never been a massive fan of Sinead in Coronation Street – I always thought that she was a bit of a wet blanket. However, this cancer plot has really changed my mind about her. Sinead has shown incredible strength of character while dealing with it all, and actress Katie Mcglynn has put in such an outstanding performance. I’m hoping that there will be a happy ending.

I cried my eyes out while watching Sinead undergo an emergency C-section. My own little girl was born prematurely six years ago, and I felt every bit of Sinead’s pain as she waited desperately for news on her baby’s fate. My daughter managed to make it through, so let’s hope Bertie is a little fighter too.

He’s a Barlow, he has more chance than most! But some of you find it hard to muster sympathy for Sinead…

There’s no denying that what Sinead’s going through is devastating, but it could have been avoided if she’d had her treatment earlier. She put her baby at more risk by delaying it and having to give birth to him early. It’s Daniel I feel sorry for – he’s living with the consequences of her lies.

| Giancarlo It would be unrealistic to show Sinead making a sudden recovery from her cancer, after she refused treatment for so long. What kind of message is that sending to viewers who are going through the same thing?
