I really enjoyed Trust. It’s about the kidnap of the Getty grandchild, and I remember the actual event as a teenager, so it really gripped me. They did a load of filming in Italy with Italian actors – that must’ve been mainly made up! But I loved it.
I thought Killing Eve was fantastic, and I’m pretty keen on Ozark. You can find yourself going, “Hmm, do I like this?” because it’s clearly gone ‘there’s a market for Breaking Bad, let’s make something else in that world’, yet nothing’s ever going to come close to Breaking Bad. Still, Ozark is pretty good.
My favourite film of all time is probably The Godfather Part II. Or It’s A Wonderful Life, or The Wizard Of Oz. When I’d bunk off school I’d go home and watch loads of black-and-white reruns, so I love 40s screen sirens like Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, and films like Dark Victory.
If I’m vegging out, and I mean really vegging out, then it’s back-to-back CBS Reality. I like a bit of Evidence Of Evil, Twin Killers, Wives With Knives…
I like it if they’re in America, but I don’t want it to be round the corner. I want the crazy in Milwaukee or somewhere!
It’s a bit left-of-field, but I’d love to be in Line Of Duty. Why not? It’s not that hard to be serious, I don’t have to do comedy! Or No Offence – I think it’s sublime, but I don’t know who I’d be. An office cleaner, maybe? Or a criminal – a ‘perp’, as they like to say in America!
