Mitch & Chantelle call a truce

MITCH AND CHANTELLE COME TOGETHER TO HELP THE YOUNGSTER...

- Tom Spilsbury

Chantelle is furious with her dad for punching her husband – she’s sick of all the aggro…”

Young Bailey’s grief overtakes her this week, as the inquest into her mother Dinah’s death finally arrives.

However, matters are made worse by the fact she’s also struggling with the terrible rift between her dad Mitch and

sister Chantelle. Will her loved ones realise that they need to settle their differences, and put little Bailey first?

“It’s only been three months since Dinah passed away, and Bailey is still missing her mum terribly,” sobs our Eastenders source. “Even though Dinah had been ill for some time, the fact that she ultimately died by her own hand has made her death even more difficult for everyone to come to terms with. The result of the inquest doesn’t throw up any surprises, and only confirms what the family already knew. However, it’s understandable why

Bailey is feeling so low, and everyone’s worried about her.”

Mitch and Karen do their best to cheer up Bailey, but with little success. So Mitch decides to do his duty as a dad, and makes a plan to pull out all the stops with an extra-special treat. Turning to his other daughter, Chantelle, for help, Mitch pours out his heart and begs her to agree to put their differences aside for the sake of grieving Bailey.

“Chantelle is still furious with her dad after he punched her husband, Gray,” our spy reminds us. “There’s always been bad blood between those two men, and she’s sick of being caught in the middle of all the aggro. That said, Mitch’s words about putting Bailey first strike a chord with Chantelle, and she reluctantly agrees to hear him out.”

Mitch suggests to Chantelle that they club together to buy

an expensive telescope for Bailey. He knows that the youngster will be thrilled with the gift, given her enthusiasm for science.

Will Mitch’s thoughtful idea succeed in cheering up Bailey as well as making amends with Chantelle? Or will the bull-headed bloke somehow make a mess of things all over again?
