This is the busiest I’ve been since joining the show!” trills Hollyoaks star Ross Adams, aka Scott, as we grill him on his character’s upcoming love story with pal Mitchell. “But it’s all really exciting stuff – I love this story and I love where it’s headed. I don’t think it’s been done in any other soap before. It’s always nice to be involved in something original.”

Hey, Ross! What was your reaction when you first heard about the storyline with
Scott and Mitchell?
It’s an interesting one, isn’t it? It’s an unlikely coupling, but I think those are my favourite types of storyline, when you don’t expect it! Mitchell’s with Cleo right now, so I think there will be a huge fallout there, as Scott and Cleo are good mates.
How will Scott feel about lying to one of his best friends?
I think it’s going to be really tough for him – for all of Scott’s faults, he’s actually a really moral person. But he’s ruled by his heart, not his head, and I think that can sometimes get him into some tricky situations! This is going to be a particularly difficult one for Scott to navigate.
Are you able to give us any teasers about what lies ahead for Scott and Mitchell?
It’s a very sweet, slowburning friendship. They’re really taking their time with it – Scott and Mitchell don’t fall into bed with each other right away. And there is going to be huge ramifications for both of them…
