Steve asks Tracy to remarry him!
STEVE POPS THE QUESTION TO TRACY IN AN ATTEMPT TO REBUILD HIS MARRIAGE…
Steve gets down on bended knee and asks wife Tracy to remarry him this week – even though she was the one who cheated on him!
Steve was devastated to find out that his missus had bedded lawyer Paula behind his back, and worried that she could be secretly gay. But after Tracy explains to him that sleeping with Paula wasn’t about her sexuality, it was more about feeling neglected by her hubby, Steve realises that he needs to pull out all the stops. So, can he prove to his wife that she’s still his number-one priority?
“Steve and Tracy have a very passionate relationship, and that’s what has kept them going,” says Simon Gregson, who plays Steve. “However, at some point, they’ve let that slip. Tracy went on holiday with Liz after Sinead’s death, and Steve has been distracted by the situation with Emma.”
While Tracy was the one to stray, Steve has been left feeling as though he’s to blame for not paying her enough attention! In fact, Tracy is so forlorn in the wake of what’s happened that she confides in mother-in-law Liz that she’s not even sure that her marriage is worth saving any more…
Steve clearly feels differently, though, as he decides to win back his missus with a grand romantic gesture. So, getting down on one knee in the Rovers, Steve hands Tracy a single red rose, and proposes that they renew their marriage vows! But will Tracy agree that another wedding ceremony is the key to saving their faltering relationship?
“Steve tells Emma that he does still love Tracy,” shares Simon. “I think this has made him realise that he doesn’t want to lose her, and that he really does want to make their relationship work.”
The look on Tracy’s face says it all – she’s extremely unimpressed by her hubby’s attempts to fix the problems in their marriage! So can Steve persuade Tracy that what they have is worth fighting for?
Whatever Tracy ends up deciding, it seems as though pair will need to be solid over the next few months. Inside Soap has heard that some truly horrific events are set to rock the couple to their very foundations – and test them more than they’ve ever been tested before…
