Jai orders a supply of cocaine

HE CALLS IN A SPECIAL PIZZA DELIVERY WITH A VERY DODGY SIDE ORDER… COCAINE!

- Tom Spilsbury

Stressed Jai strays back into old habits this week, when the pressure of working at the outdoor pursuits centre sees his mind turn to cocaine! But will he be tempted to take the drug he was once addicted to?

“Jai has a lot of pressure piled on him by Al and Kim,” reveals actor Chris Bisson, who plays Jai. “It’s mainly to do with the launch of the centre, and it’s been handed to Jai at the last minute. He’s frustrated as Al and Kim are doing very little, and he’s the one making it all happen – yet Al keeps chipping away and undermining him! The insults rub salt into the wound. Kim and Al just wind Jai up – and, as we know, he has a very short temper.”

Jai grows even more angry when Toby backs out of the centre’s sponsorship deal, meaning that Jai is forced to find alternative arrangements, with hardly any time to do it…

“Al dumps the new client on Jai, very late,” shares Chris. “He’s basically given Jai a losing hand. He’s set him up to fail! None of the things that Al’s promised have been delivered, and now Jai’s sucking up all the pressure. It’s compounded, as Al is going to the cinema, and refuses to help. He hasn’t even made a business plan.”

Realising he has to pull an all-nighter if there’s any chance of hitting his deadline, Jai makes a fateful decision.

“Laurel offers to help, and mentions getting the kids pizza,” explains Chris. “And suddenly, Jai recalls he has a phone number associated with the pizza delivery company. He orders ‘the vegan special with extra meatballs’, and says, ‘I want to go large’.

I think it’s fairly obvious that it’s not actually a pizza that one would normally order!”

It will be clear to viewers that businessman Jai is using code words to order cocaine – but the important question is, will he succumb to his craving, or will he be able to summon the strength to resist?

“When the pizza arrives,

Jai has a real battle on his hands,” sighs Chris. “He knows he needs to stay up all night. He’s in a dark place, and feels as if he’s losing his mojo. He has this little devil sitting on his shoulder, telling him to turn back to his former poison. ‘Do it, and it’ll fix it!’”

Jai doesn’t immediately take any of the drugs inside the pizza box, instead hiding the delivery in his desk drawer. However, Graham is quick to notice that Jai seems on edge. Will he figure out why? And will Jai take any of the cocaine as he faces his impossible task?
