“Juliet doesn’t want anyone to get hurt…”

- Alice Penwill

Juliet heads down a risky path this week, as she starts dealing drugs! So we nabbed actress Niamh Blackshaw, who plays her, for the lowdown on her alter ego’s dodgy new job…

Hi, Niamh! So how on earth does Juliet end up a dealer?

Jordan wants Juliet to go to other schools with a batch of drugs to sell to the school children. But Juliet feels sick about it. There’s a lot of pressure on her to protect her family – and Juliet doesn’t want to see anyone getting hurt.

Is Jordan threatening her?

He is, but Juliet doesn’t know that it’s him. She thinks that Jordan’s on her side, and she trusts him as Jordan always seems to be trying to do what’s best for her. But it will just get worse if she carries on…

Do you like acting out this vulnerable side to Juliet?

I really do! Her cockiness, feistiness and aggression is just a façade. Jordan has come along and broken down her walls, and seen that she’s a vulnerable young girl – so she’s the perfect target for him.

What do you make of Juliet’s relationship with Sid?

They have a really good friendship, and they’re soul mates rather than lovers. They’d do anything for one another – but there’s no romance between them.

In the flash-forward episode, Juliet confessed her love for Peri – do you know how she’ll get to that point?

I’m in the dark! I really don’t know how it’s going to pan out – I just know that, at some point, a relationship is going to develop. Whether it works, or whether Juliet will be rejected, I don’t know…
