-

Following our sold-out trip to see nature’s magical light show, we’re offering another unforgettable aurora-hunting experience. You’ll be joined by weather presenter Carol Kirkwood as you head north of the Arctic Circle in search of the lights that dance across the sky. She will give an exclusive talk and Q&A session about her life and career. Carol is fascinated with the aurora borealis, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see them. Together, you’ll hear from the scientific experts on board as they explain what causes this natural phenomenon. You’ll sail along the Norwegian fjords on MS Polarlys, a modern ship combining Scandinavian style with excellent facilities. You’ll discover the country’s coastline from the UNESCO World Heritage port of Bergen up to the city of Tromsø, and then on to the Lofoten Islands and North Cape (mainland Europe’s most northerly point), before sailing back via the ancient Viking trading post of Trondheim. En route, you’ll have the option to go on additional excursions, including snowmobiling, husky sledding, sea eagle spotting and taking part in a traditional Viking feast**. This is an unmissable opportunity to journey along the Norwegian coast and gaze at the star-filled Arctic skies and beautiful Northern Lights with one of the UK’S most popular weather presenters. ‘I’m fascinated by the natural phenomena that weather systems can throw up, from the extraordinarily beautiful to the truly violent,’ says Carol. ‘I’m thrilled to be returning to see one of the wonders of the natural world.’
