Bobby’s nightclub collapse

HIS LOVE FOR DOTTY PUTS HIM IN DEADLY DANGER...

- Laura-jayne Tyler

There’s a terrible price to pay for Bobby Beale this week, as he tries to impress his crush, Dotty.

The horrifying situation unfolds after underage Bobby heads to the club night at Ruby’s, but is left devastated when he sees Dotty cosying up to his older brother, Peter – and the heartbroken lad goes off the rails…

“Dotty is making money from selling balloons of nitrous oxide – aka laughing gas – to various punters,” explains actress Milly Zero, who plays her. “Bobby really wants some, because he wants to act cool and he reckons he is going to get his girl.

“But Dotty says to him, ‘Absolutely not – you’ve recently had brain surgery, you’re 16 years old and there is absolutely no way’,” adds the star. “However, Bobby sees Peter and Dotty together and that puts him in a destructive mood. He gets hold of a balloon from someone else that Dotty has sold to, and suffers a really bad reaction to it.”

At the start of the week, Bobby is excited when cashstrapped Dotty, feeling the pressure to earn some dosh, teams up with new pal Vinny to promote his club night at Ruby’s. But while Bobby begins to worry about the fact that he’s not old enough to go,

Dotty invites Peter to the party and the pair flirt up a storm.

“Dotty is very smart and socially aware,” explains Milly. “She knows that Bobby has a crush on her – she’s always known it – and at first she just thinks that it’s harmless.

However, now that she’s getting to know Peter, she really likes him. He brings out a softer side to her, and they have a good connection.”

taunting Bobby at home. His cruel jibes knock Bobby’s confidence, but the lad refuses to be deterred and turns up at Ruby’s in his best clobber. But when Peter muscles in on Dotty first, buying her a drink before Bobby can make his move, he’s gutted.

Meanwhile, Dotty laps up Peter’s attention, and it’s not long before the pair are moving in for a kiss. However, before the two of them can lock lips, a commotion on the dance floor interrupts the moment – and both Peter and Dotty realise that Bobby has collapsed.

“From an outsider’s point of view, you would blame Dotty,” says Milly. “She got the blame for Bex taking drugs on the boat earlier this year, when it was Bex who asked for the drugs several times. Dotty refused Bobby the laughing gas, but because she has a reputation, people won’t hear her out.

“Peter is annoyed as

Dotty lies and says, ‘No it wasn’t me’, and then he finds out she was selling the stuff to begin with,” adds the actress. “So he gets really angry with Dotty.”

As Dotty stands to lose the only true friends that she has on the Square, will Bobby be left with any long-term health damage as a result of his reckless behaviour?
