Months of manipulation finally take their toll on Yasmeen this week, and she lashes out at her cruel husband – but as Geoff lies motionless on the floor, has terrified Yasmeen delivered a killer blow?
It’s after Yasmeen is diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection – which Geoff tries to blame on her former husband Sharif – that she slowly starts to unravel.
And when Geoff makes her wear a sexy dress that he bought for one of his escort girls, Yasmeen loses it with her abuser…
“Yasmeen doesn’t mean to attack Geoff – all she wants is something to eat and a hug,” explains Shelley King, who plays the victim. “She is not thinking coherently, she hasn’t eaten properly for two-anda-half days. She reacts like a wounded, cornered animal – she just wants it all to stop. She defends herself, she doesn’t
attack him. But it is Geoff who ends up bleeding on the kitchen floor.” SHOCK DIAGNOSIS
The week gets off to a terrible start for Yasmeen, who’s been feeling under the weather for quite some time. A visit to the medical centre reveals she has chlamydia – leaving the poor woman speechless!
Returning home, she breaks the news to husband Geoff, who immediately accuses her of playing away. Horrified, Yasmeen reminds her partner that he’s the one who’s been meeting with escorts behind her back, leaving him infuriated. But Yasmeen is further stunned when Geoff suggests that she could have contracted the infection from her former husband Sharif, who spent years cheating on HER…CONTINUED
“Dr Gaddas tells Yasmeen that chlamydia could lie dormant for some time – so when Geoff says that about Sharif, Yasmeen believes it could be the truth,” reveals Shelley. “It is a doubt in her mind that maybe she has been carrying it for years without knowing. Again, Geoff is cleverly playing on that.”
EYE SPY
When Geoff heads out to the shop, frantic Yasmeen starts stuffing more clothes into her secret holdall, which she has squirrelled away in a cupboard, ready for when she finally decides to leave her cruel husband.
What she doesn’t know, however, is that Geoff is watching her through a secret camera he’s installed in the house. So when he returns home and demands the key to the cupboard, Yasmeen finds herself cornered.
“Yasmeen is scared,” Shelley tells us. “When Geoff demands to know what is going on, she does also feel guilty – he is right to be thinking that she is planning to leave him. She feels as though she has done exactly what he accuses her of.”
FROCK STAR
Geoff is absolutely furious – and things finally come to a head when the pair later go out to meet Tim and Sally in the Rovers. Poor Yasmeen is at the end of her tether as she craves a proper meal, so when wicked Geoff demands that she put on a dress that he has selected for her, she doesn’t have the energy to put up a fight.
“Viewers will see that Yasmeen has had nothing to eat for days, Geoff has got rid of everything in the cupboards,” says Shelley

“She is on medication, she feels ill, she can’t leave her house. Yasmeen is trapped – Geoff has made her think she has upset Cathy. She thinks she has been unreasonable.
“So when Sally asks them if they want to go for something to eat, Yasmeen is desperate to go,” adds the star. “Geoff then pulls out this dress that is obviously not for her. Yasmeen thinks people are laughing at her – but they are astonished. Then she finds out that Geoff has given Sally and Tim cash, which she wasn’t aware of. Before she knows it, Geoff is physically carrying her home.”
STRIKE BACK
Back in the house, Geoff’s mask slips, and that’s when he reveals that he bought the dress for one of his other women! Having had enough of her husband’s controlling behaviour, Yasmeen snaps, desperate for something to eat and drink – and that’s when she lashes out…
“Geoff pushes her inside the house and slams the door,” reveals Shelley. “He then goes out drinking, while watching everything Yasmeen is doing. She begs with him not to go, but he leaves her there – and when he comes home, she is on the sofa exhausted, in the dress, and she can smell fish and chips. He has a bottle of wine on the table, and he doesn’t offer her anything…”
As Yas makes a grab for the bottle of wine in Geoff’s hand, there’s a tussle between them – and Geoff ends up injured on the floor, covered in blood! So has Yasmeen inadvertently managed to rid herself of her husband once and for all?
